On July 18, 2025, ID FORUM – Vietnam Independent Directors Forum 2025, under the theme “Independent Directors – Elevating Value in the Nation’s Era of Advancement,” was successfully held in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was led by Vietnam Independent Directors Association (VNIDA), with the professional support and coordination of VNIDA Institute of Corporate Governance Research (VNICG).
With more than 150 participants, including representatives of regulatory agencies, experts, and business leaders, the forum offered in-depth perspectives on the strategic role of Independent Directors in the new context. Featured speakers included:
- Mr. Phan Duc Hieu, Member of the 15th National Assembly and Full-Time Member of the Economic and Financial Committee
- Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Vietnam Exchange (VNX)
- Professor Mak Yuen Teen, NUS Business School, Member of the VNIDA Advisory Board
- Mr. Dominic Scriven, Founder & Chairman, Dragon Capital Group
- Mr. Manoj K. Raut, Chief Executive Officer & Secretary General, Institute of Directors, India (IOD India)
In particular, the discussion session with investors and leading experts reaffirmed the importance of Independent Directors in enhancing governance capacity and strengthening market confidence.
The event also marked the official launch of VNICG – VNIDA Institute of Corporate Governance Research, an affiliated organization of VNIDA – Vietnam Independent Directors Association. It was also the occasion for the announcement of a strategic partnership between VNIDA – Vietnam Independent Directors Association and the Institute of Directors, India (IOD India).
As part of the event, the Practical Guide for Independent Directors was also introduced to the business community by Mr. Hoang Duc Hung, President of VNICG, and Mr. Nguyen Viet Thinh, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of CGS Vietnam.
