Hoang Duc Hung

Mr. Hoang Duc Hung was elected Vice Chairman of the Association of Independent Members of Boards of Directors of Vietnamese Enterprises (VNIDA) for Term I (2022–2027) on January 9, 2023.

Mr. Hoang Duc Hung is currently serving as Chairman of the Vietnam Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Vietnam), the Vietnamese affiliate of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Gentis Joint Stock Company (term 2022–2025).

Mr. Hung is also a Member of the Judging Panel of the VLCA Awards for Sustainability/ESG Reporting (2021–2022). He has over 27 years of experience in consulting and auditing with Big Four firms across Southeast Asia, Australia, and the United States. He previously served as the Lead Advisor supporting World Bank–funded projects in cooperation with the Government of Vietnam during the development and issuance of the Internal Audit Decree of the Ministry of Finance (Decree No. 05). His contributions include translating into Vietnamese the mandatory content of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and the IIA Internal Auditing Standards, drafting the Internal Audit Implementation Handbook for enterprises as well as for ministries, provincial People’s Committees, and public administrative units subject to mandatory internal audit requirements, providing advisory services to enhance internal audit capacity for the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Construction, and the State Bank of Vietnam, and serving as the Lead Advisor in developing regulations and guidelines for the Financial Supervision of State-Owned Enterprises (Decree No. 61).

Mr. Hung has also participated in numerous consulting projects related to enterprise restructuring and equitization in Vietnam, including advisory services to strengthen corporate governance, risk management, internal audit, and sustainable development (ESG) in accordance with prevailing regulations and best practices.

Mr. Hung holds an MBA in International Finance from Oxford Brookes University (UK), a Professional Director Certification (DCP) from Thai IOD, the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He is currently a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA Australia) and has previously been a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA). Mr. Hung is also a Professional Family Business Advisor, having completed specialized programs of the Family Firm Institute (FFI).
